Message from Richard

Hi All

The coaching staff continue to inform me  that number of swimmers from all three competition squads attending morning training have continued to rise and maintain. This is fantastic news and a real step in the right direction for the swimmers and their progression.

Consistent attendance and hard work will benefit all swimmers. I am sure all parents and swimmers share the coaching staff's aspirations that all swimmers in their respective squads achieve Yorkshire County Qualifying times for February 2012. Hard work and great attendance is the catalyst to achieve this goal.

Congratulations to you all and keep up the commitment, the swimmers will benefit greatly with fantastic future performances.

Kind Regards

Richard

Holiday Time!

Hello Everyone,

I am away from Monday 27th June until and will return on Tuesday 5th July.

It has been really difficult to organise cover, with it been so close to the Nationals and a couple of coaches on Holiday and left! But coaches will be there when it is possible I am sure.

Keep training hard please!

See you when I get back,

Ryan.

Leeds B Grade

For those of you that have volunteered at the Leeds B Grade, you need to make yourself available in the timing suite before the start of the session.

Thanks for all the support,

Ryan.

Harrogate Meet

C Central achieved 92 PB's out of 98 Swims9 Speeding Tickets8 Gold Medals7 Silver Medals and 5 Bronze Medals this weekend.  Another fantastic meet, Well Done!!! Yep

On the whole the stroke technique when racing looked very good this weekend.  Most of you are starting to get the idea of how to pace on the 200's now.  In the past swimmers were loosing too much speed towards the back end of the race but now swimmers are picking up speed and overtaking rivals showing that you are all in good shape and getting very fit.  For some of you it looks like your race plan is coming together as we get close to the end of the season.

I know some of you were successful in getting Yorkshire times for October and North Eastern times for December this weekend, so well done but swimmers who were just outside make sure you enter as many Galas as possible to have a go at chasing the North Eastern Times you are closest to before the closing date in November.   C Central's biggest event in the Competition Calendar is the North Eastern Counties, so it would be great to have as many of the squad there as possible.

Yorkshire and North Eastern times can be found and printed off on the right hand side of the blog under Qualification Times for Future Meets.

Welsh Nationals

We think the deadline for entries for Wales is tonight. I will be around from 5 ish in the cafe to sign any forms.

Our Best NER Championship to date!

A fantastic two weekends at Sheffield with lots of medals and PB's. All the hard work in training has really paid off. This time last year C Central had only 5 qualifiers for this meet. We have come along way as a group since then achieving 41 Pb's out of 55 Swims, 5 Gold Medals, 11 Silver Medals, 9 Bronze Medals and 3 Final swims. It was also excellent to see the past set of swimmers from C Central who moved to National Age Group recently achieve National Qualifying Times. Great Job Open-mouth smile. New swimmers it will be your job to step up and try and do the same as these guys did next year. You are all capable of doing it if you put your mind to it.

Attendance

Most of you attend the required amount of sessions to be in C Central, however I would like to remind you all how many sessions, minimum a week you should all be attending to keep your place in the squad. We appreciate you all have holidays, illness and after school activities now and again, which is fine but when not away swimmers should be attending on average the minimum number of sessions below for their age to give them the best chance of success. These number of sessions follows the Long Term Athlete Development plan for Competitive Swimming.

9 yrs = 5 sessions per week minimum
10 yrs = 6/7 sessions per week minimum
11 yrs = 6/7 sessions per week minimum
11/12 yrs = 7 sessions per week minimum

Our squads swimming week starts on a Sunday night and finishes on a Friday night. If swimmers have competed on a Sunday they will be given their attendance mark for Sunday nights session. If a session is missed swimmers should try and make it up in the following week by attending an additional work out.

Below is the attendance since the start of 2011 up to Sat 11th June 2001 so you can all see if you are meeting the correct standards for our squad. (H = Holiday)
