KUHSC Open Meet

Hi All,

Just a reminder of the arrival times for the KUHSC Meet this weekend.  As this meet is not in the Regional calendar swimmers are to report to Lyn Hughes for this competition.  Please remember that it is City of Leeds Club policy to arrive and check in with the team managing staff 30 minutes before the start of the warm up.

Training for Regional Development will be on as normal on Fri pm, Sat am and Mon Am.  Swimmers who are competing at Hull will receive a mark for Saturday am.  Swimmers who are racing on Saturday will have the choice to leave early (7:50pm) and miss the land training session on Friday 30th if they wish.

Leeds Summer Meet 2017

Well done to everyone who competed over the weekend, most of you annihilated your PB's.  We are extremely proud of you all.

Regional Dev achieved a whopping 117 PB's out of 147 Swims, 12 Gold's, 14 Silver's, 18 Bronze Medals and 15 additional Yorkshire qualifying times.  Great Job!

Below is a link to the Yorkshire short course qualifying times.  Your challenge is to attempt to make the qualifying standard for as many different events as you can before entries close in September. Good Luck.

Not long to go now until our Olympics (Welsh Nationals & Chesterfield Meet).  This is the last stretch now until the end of the season, try to attend every session between now and then to give you the best possible chance of success.  Lets smash it!!!!!! 

Remember............

Always practice Olympic starts, turns and finishes in training and then transfer this into your race.

Lack of concentration on skills in training only means you will be getting great at performing poor starts, turns and finishes.

Speed + no skill = only good until the skilful swimmers catch up

Skill + no speed = looks pretty but can't quite manage to achieve the qualifying time

Speed + Great Skills = recipe for success

Keep Training Hard!

After two long tiring weekends of competing it was all worth while.  Some outstanding swims last weekend, you all stepped up and got stuck into your races challenging some of the best swimmers in the North East.   

Regional Squad achieved a total of 33 PB's out of 43 swims and 9 Final Swims.

The Club stormed to the top of the Medals Table achieving 16 Golds, 11 Silvers and 14 Bronze Medals.  Fingers crossed these results will carry through to the last meet of the year.  Well Done Everyone! 

In the run up to Welsh Nationals and the Chesterfield Meet please try and attend as many sessions as possible to ensure your body is in the best shape possible for the event.

Welsh Summer Nationals Online Entries 2017

Hi All,

 

Just a reminder that Open Entry for remaining spaces opens at 9am tomorrow (Friday 9^th June).  This will be on a first come first served basis for those who achieve the qualifying time between 1st August 2016 and the closing date of entry (ranked time from 1st of August 2016).  All entries will close on Friday 23^rd June at 1pm.  Swimmers are advise to enter all events they have qualified in.

To ensure successful entries please go to the link below just before 9:00am, and follow the guide. Ensure you have your bank details available as your entries are not accepted until the payment goes through.

Here is some advice from Swim Wales;

 

We are aware of issues regarding the open entry page, please see the following points to avoid the system crashing:

- Do not refresh the page, once you search for your swimmer and the page 'freezes' to load you have been placed in a quee, each time you press refresh you are re-added to the back of the quee! This is often the cause of site crashes.

- The event is popular and spaces are limited, however most traffic on the morning of entries opening is due to users refreshing the page, try a little later in day or Saturday to avoid IT problems-there is however no guarantee that the event will have spaces.

- The system is not managed by Swim Wales, and unfortunately the office is unable to support phone calls regarding technical issues, please be patient with the system. 

- If you experience problems regarding membership please contact renewals@swimming.org

- If you experience problems regarding times, qualifications or rankings please contact rankings@swimming.org
