Yorkshire Relay Selection

Hi All,

Please could you email Kevin Schofield (kevin.schofield@leeds.gov.uk) if you are unable to swim on Sunday 24th February in the Yorkshire Relays should you be selected. This will reduce a significant amount of time in terms of team selection if we already know you are not available to swim on this date.

Regional Crack the Christmas Cracker

There was some great racing from the Regional Squads at the Leeds Christmas Cracker, finishing 2018 in style.

Regional Development achieved 168 Life Time Bests out of 218 Swims, 15 Gold Medals, 17 Silver Medals, 19 Bronze Medals, 110 4th - 10th place finishes and 32 more Yorkshire Qualifying times for 2019.

Regional Xmas Party

Hi All,

Just a reminder that is the Regional Xmas party on Saturday 22nd December. The party will take place at Oxygen Free Jumping Trampoline Park at Cardigan Fields, Kirkstall. The party will start at 11:00 and will end at 12:45. Please try and arrive 10 minutes early. Regional Performance will finish slightly earlier than planned (10:15 ish) to allow swimmers to travel across to Kirkstall in time for 11am.

Please note that this is not an official City of Leeds outing and therefore coaches will not be responsible for swimmers whilst at Oxygen Trampoline Park. Any volunteer parents who would like to help out it would be greatly appreciated. Please see Kim if you are available.

1500m Time Trial

Hi All,

We will be doing a 1500m Time Trial again on Thursday 20^th December. This will not be a normal session. Swimmers will perform a warm up, time trial, swim down and then they can leave. The 1500m time trial is a key indicator in testing the endurance of the swimmers. ALL members who are 10 and over from Regional Performance should be in attendance. All members of Regional Development who attend Thursday mornings should also attend. Any parents who are free to hep lap count please make yourselves available on Thursday morning.

City of Leeds Christmas Cracker & Training Changes

Hi All,

The Leeds Xmas Meet is the last meet of 2018 and the end of the current training cycle, lets make it a good one. Concentrate on the skills you have learnt in training and put them into practice in the racing pool.

Please remember it is City of Leeds policy that all swimmers must arrive 30 minutes prior to warm up starting. Failure to check in with the team managing staff 30 minutes before warm up will consequence in a withdrawal of all swims in that particular session.

Hi All,

I hope you are all looking forward to the Christmas Party at Oxygen next Saturday. We now have 56 swimmers going to the party with a total of 70 spaces. We would like to open the last remaining places to any swimmers who would like to bring a sibling along with them to the party. The cost is still £10 which must be paid and handed to Kim by the end of Friday nights session (14th December). The last remaining spaces will be filled on a first come first serve basis.

THE COUNTDOWN IS ON!

The countdown isn't just on for Christmas, it's also only 7 days until votes and nominations close for the 2019 Leeds Sports Awards. Make sure you get your nomination ticked off your Christmas list to ensure that your sporting heroes are recognised in 2019.

Do you know someone who deserves to be recognised at a prestigious awards ceremony? Then why not take the time to tell Sport Leeds all about them. Whether it's an individual, club, coach, volunteer or administrator, we want to know.

Finalists will be announced in early January and the awards will be taking place on Thursday 28th February at the first direct Arena.

A fantastic weekend of racing down in Ponds Forge on by both Regional Squads. It was great to see some of the younger swimmers trying new races for the first time and achieve Yorkshire times in the long course pool. Keep up the hard work.
