Well done to those swimmers who competed at the Sheffield Summer Open Meet last weekend finishing the season off on a high.  There were lots of life time best performances with many qualifying for the Yorkshire Championships later in the year.

For some of you this was your last competition in Regional Squad.  We hope to follow your progress as you move on through the scheme.  I hope you are all looking forward to joining your new squads and I hope you will work as hard for your new coaches as you have done for us.  We will definitely miss you all.

Welsh Summer Nationals 2015 - Day 1

The Welsh Summer Nationals team are off to a flying start with 40 PB's out of 61 Swims on the first day.  We had 12 finalists of which 7 converted their times from heat to final.  The team came away with 4 Gold's, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze.  A great start to the week.

There seems to be some confusion with regards to training over the coming weeks with coaches been away, so training will be as follows (please note this may be different to the initial email sent out earlier this month).

 

Regional 1

 Wed 22nd = 18:45 - 19:45 (JCCS) - Craig Robertson

 

Thu 23rd = 05.00 - 06:30 Pool/ 06:30 - 07:00 Land (JCCS) - Josh

Thu 23rd = 18:30 - 20:00 (JCCS) - Craig Robertson

 

Fri 24th = 19:00 - 20:00 (JCCS) - Scott

 

Sun 26th = Gala (No Training)

 

Mon 27th Am = No Training 

Mon 27th = 18.30 - 20.00 (JCCS) - Junior & Ste 

 

Wed 29th = 18:45 - 19:45 (JCCS) - Scott 

 

Thu 30th = 05.00 - 06:30 Pool/ 06:30 - 07:00 Land (JCCS) - Josh

Hi All,

I hope you are all now getting excited and raring to go.  Below are just a couple of reminders before we depart.

The Wales Travel Itinerary:

Meet at JCCS Aquatics Centre: 08:45

Coach Departs: 09:15

Arrive in Swansea: 16:00 (approximately)

Depart Swansea 30th July: 09:30 (approximately)

Arrive at the JCCS Aquatics Centre: 16:30 - 17:00 (approximately) (We will ask children to keep you posted via mobile phones en route. If you'd prefer your child not to have a mobile phone, please let Jo Yeomans know, and she will keep you informed during the journey to any changes.)

Please note that swimmers will not be permitted to use Mobile Phones, Ipods & Ipads during finals sessions, team meetings & team meals.  If you do bring any electrical equipment it is yours to look after.  Staff will not be held responsible for lost items.

Medicine  

All medicine should be clearly labeled with the swimmers name and dosage requirements in a small plastic food bag and given to David Broome before departure.

Money

Swimmers will need a packed lunch or money (please keep money on you for journey to Swansea) to be able to get lunch on the journey down and will need money for the lunch on the return journey.  You may leave money for emergency and food on the return journey with Jo Yeomans.  If you wish to do this please put the money in an envelope with the swimmers name and amount clearly written on the envelope.

We have been made aware of some people who will be leaving us early, or not returning on the bus, if you will be doing this, please let team managing staff know in advance.

Remember that all team members travel in FULL Team Kit en route to Swansea. Team members must be clearly visible for Team Leaders during stop-offs and in case of emergency.

If you have a lanyard please bring one with you to put your key card & room key on.  Swimmers will be fined £10 for loss of key card and room key.
