Withdrawals

If a swimmer is not going to swim in a heat they must inform the Entry Manager of their Intention to withdraw no later than the following deadlines:
8pm on the Friday Evening for all events on the Saturday Morning
9am on Saturday for events on Saturday Afternoon
6pm on Saturday for events on Sunday Morning
12 noon on Sunday for events on Sunday Afternoon

Notifications should be sent to entries@yorkshireswimming.org

We are still very short of volunteers for all sessions. Any additional help would be appreciated. At the moment some sessions may have to be cancelled!

We offer travelling expenses to all those assisting us at a Gala together with either a meal, or allowance for one, if working all day. We do not have an upper claim limit.

If you have purchased a Spectator Ticket we will obviously refund it!

Final Reminder - 2025 Club Registration Fees

 Just a reminder that there are 3 days left to pay your Club and Swim England fees for 2025.  These can now be paid online through your City of Leeds My Membership account here.  In order to get to the checkout you must ensure all your details are up to date first. The system will accept only card payments, either debit card or credit card. Where 2 or more swimmers from one family are members, the system will give a total amount to pay and may not show the total amount against each child.

 

City of Leeds Club and Swim England fees for 2025 are as follows.

· 1st child in family (£120 Club/ £40.05 SE)

£160.05 (LX Card = £112.05)

 

· 2nd child in family (£70.00 Club/ £40.05 SE)

£110.05 (LX Card = £82.05)

 

· 3rd and further child in family (£45.00 Club/ £40.05 SE)

£85.05 (LX Card = £67.05)

Photography 

City of Leeds SC reserves the right to take and/or publish images of club members by the club's official photographer(s) in accordance with the SE Photography and Photographing Swimmers Policy.

Yorkshire Team Selections 2025

Good afternoon,

Please see below links to the team selections for the forthcoming Yorkshire Team Championships 2025. This event will take place on Sunday 23rd February 2025 at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, Sheffield. Full event information is available to view on the Yorkshire Swimming website here.

There are two attachments, please check both. Some individuals have been selected to compete in their own individual age group and also the 'Open' age group which could mean that these individuals will be racing across both the AM and PM sessions. All team selections have been made in accordance with the respective relay team selection policy, which is available to download here.

Please note, team selections were made from the Swim England rankings following the Winter Development Meet and performances at the individual events within the Yorkshire Championships will not be considered when allocating swimmers to teams.

Yorkshire Swimming Association Championships 2025 - Late Entries

Please see email below from the Yorkshire's Entries Secretary regarding late entries into the Yorkshires

 

We have received a couple of emails asking for entries to be accepted, after the advertised closing date, for the Championships and therefore contrary to the published meet 
conditions.  We are aware that the City of Leeds club decided to cancel two sessions of the City of Leeds New Year Meet on Sunday 5th January 2025. The sessions on the Saturday were swum along with all sessions at the Harrogate Janus Meet over the same weekend. There were a considerable number of Licenced Meets in December 2024.

Qualifying times for the Championships could be obtained between 1st October 2023 and the closing date, a period of two years.

The Championships are at capacity. Accepted entries have been published along with a Draft Programme.

We are not accepting entries to the Championships achieved after the closing date.

Due to a high volume of swims it will not be possible to have Finals for 400m Events which will now be Heat Declared Winner for all ages. 

A Programme will be available to be printed from here. We will not be selling programmes at the event. 

Warm Up is split based on the number of swimmers in the Session. 

SATURDAY 1st FEBRUARY 

Morning/ Afternoon (Swimmers to arrive and check in with Team Managers 30 minutes before their allocated warm up)

Mixed 10-12 years = 8am-8-20am/ 1pm-1-20pm

Tickets for all Sessions 

All Spectator Tickets for Leeds must be purchased in advance via our online system here. We will not be accepting payment on the door. 

There are still tickets available for all Sessions. 

If you cannot obtain a ticket why not volunteer? Provided only one spectator per ticket is in the pool hall at any one-time tickets may be shared. On entry a wristband will be given to the first person using the ticket and this wristband must be handed to any subsequent person using the same ticket. 

Spectators should sit in the 4 blocks of seats towards the start end of the pool (The end with the Scoreboard). Parts of the other two blocks of seats will be allocated to clubs. 

Withdrawals 

Last year at these Championships there were Ninety-Two No Shows on Weekend One. 

This is not acceptable.

A great weekend of racing in our home pool over the two weekends.  It was great to see the first racing of 2025.  We are looking forward to watching some quality swimming at the Yorkshire's in February.  Overall...........

ALL PARENTS MUST UPDATE ENTRY TIMES

At the moment all swimmers are entered with no entry times.  This is because this is not the usual entry system we normally use to enter competitions.  Swimmers can manually update entry times up until the day of the gala.

In order to do this please click the refresh button next to your name on this link.  

Read the instructions and where it tells you to 'click here', click.  

This will take you to your swimmers rankings page.  

Press CTRL A on the keyboard to select the whole of your swimmers rankings page.

Press CTRL C on the keyboard to copy their rankings page.

Go back to the webpage with the instructions and red box on.  

Click in the red box and press CTRL V to copy your swimmers rankings into the red box.  

This should then update your swimmers entry times for the gala.

FAILURE TO DO THIS BEFORE THE COMPETITION WILL MEAN YOUR SWIMMER COULD BE IN A HEAT WITH NO TIME!

Final details for the COLSC New Year Meet (Take 2)

We hope you're well?

 

Thank you for your patience and understanding whilst we pulled this altogether. Due to the dive pit being unavailable until 12pm, we have had to make small changes to the seating plan, please see here.

 

We are delighted to be able to have 600 spectator tickets available. Once set up tickets will be £5 per session and can be purchased here.  Kids 12 and under go free. Tickets bought for last week will be honoured, please bring the email confirmation with you.

 

Please Note… The overflow carpark is inaccessible due to the ice so will NOT be available, the site managers have advised you car share where possible. The aquatics, bowls and tennis car parks however are all open. 

 

Gala timings are as follows:

 

SUN AM:

Arrival: 07:30 Female, 07:55 Open/Male

Warm Up:  08:00 - 08:50 (Start 09:00), 

08:00-08:25 Female, 08:25-08:50 Open/Male

 

SUN PM:

Arrival: 12:45 Female, 13:10 Open/Male

Warm Up:  13:00 - 13:50 (Start 14:00), 

13:00-13:25 Female, 13:25-13:50 Open/Male

 

Could we also ask clubs to please ensure their swimmers have suitable footwear on whilst walking around, particularly up and down the balcony steps and especially when wet. 

 

Our supporters committee will also have a raffle, tombola, sweets and ice pops to sell so bring some change if you want to partake.
