Withdrawals should be emailed to the Entries Administrator: entries@yorkshireswimming.org before 5pm on Thursday for both days of the competition.

HELP REQUIRED
Officials/ Announcers/ Marshals
We are still very short of volunteers for all sessions.  Any additional help would be appreciated.  As well as a few more technical officials we particularly need more Marshalls and door staff.
We offer travelling expenses to all those assisting us at a Gala together with a meal, if working all day.  If you have purchased a Spectator Ticket we will refund it!

Yorkshire Winter Competition, Officials and Volunteers Required

Hello Everyone

Thank you to everyone who has completed the Google form so far with their availability. 

We are still very short of marshals across the two weekends and an announcer for Sunday 11th, detailed below. We would be grateful if you could circulate this email around your club memberships please, the competition cannot go ahead without volunteers unfortunately.

I have seen some requests for mentoring on starting and refereeing, however at this level the starter has to be qualified and only referees who are enrolled on to the referee training programme with an exam date of November 2026 are able to be mentored.

Saturday 10th October 2026 (JCCS) We still need the following volunteers;
AM - At least 3 marshals
PM - At least 2 marshals

Sunday 11th October 2026 (JCCS) We still need the following volunteers;
AM -  At least 2 marshals, 1 announcer
PM - At least 1 marshal, 1 announcer

Saturday 17th October 2026 (Ponds Forge) We still need the following volunteers;
AM - At least 1 marshal
PM - At least   1 marshal

Sunday 18th October 2026 (Ponds Forge) We still need the following volunteers;
AM -  At least 1 marshal

***REMINDER*** Pool Programme Adjustments: 28 September for Two Weeks

From 28 September, for a period of two weeks, there will be maintenance/work taking place in the 25m x 10m pool (diving pool end)
As a result, we will be making some minor adjustments to session times to ensure that all squads can continue training with minimal disruption.
Please see the amended schedule below:

Monday 28th September and 5th October 

25x12 (Middle Pool)

AGD3 - 17:30-18:30 (1 hour only)

Academy 2 – 18:30-19:30 (1 hour only)

JDEV – 19:30-20:30 (1 hour only)

 
25x25 Pool (Lanes 5-9)
PDEV – 16:30-18:15 (1 hour 45 min)
AGD1 – 18:15-19:15 (1 hour only)
Academy 1 – 19:15-20:15 (as normal, just using 25x25)
 
AGD2 and YDEV remain unaffected.

Wednesday 30th September and 7th October
The pool closure has also affected the synchro training scheme as they use the 25x10m on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Friday PMs. We have agreed for the following:
 
AGD3 will swim on the morning 5.30 - 7.00am instead of the evening session
AGD1 to utilise lanes 5-9 in the 25x25 @ 18:30-20:00

Academy 1 will be as normal

Thursday 1st and 8th October 
Junior Development will be training Friday mornings

City of Leeds September Meet Info & Training Changes

Below are the arrival times for this weekend's competition.  We are delighted to be able to have 600 spectator tickets. The tickets will be £5 per session and can be purchased here.  Kids 12 and under go free. Unfortunately, we will not be able to print any programmes to hand out over the day, but please find the draft programme here.  Any changes already sent through to Leeds Entries team will not appear on the programme but will be correct for the start sheets on the day.
 
Just a reminder that it is City of Leeds policy to arrive and check in with Team Manging staff 30 minutes before the warm up.  Swimmers must make themselves known to the team manager on arrival at the pool so they can be ticked off on the squad register.  Swimmers should also inform the team manager when they leave at the end of the day or if they need to leave poolside during the meet.  Team Managers will look after swimmers on poolside throughout each session. During lunch, or if a child leaves poolside during the meet, they are the responsibility of their parent / guardian / a nominated responsible adult.

Could we also ask parents to please ensure their swimmers have suitable footwear on whilst walking around, particularly up and down the balcony steps and especially when wet.  t is due to be another warm one on poolside at JCCS, we have water fountains situated throughout the building but please bring your own bottles to refill.  JCCS Management have kindly asked that there are NO camping chairs brought to the competition this weekend, this is due to fire regulations.  Anyone in possession of a camping chair will be asked to remove it from the venue.

Entries for the Autumn Development Meet held at John Charles on Saturday 7th November are now open for entry online.  Entries will close on Monday 5th October.
- This is for swimmers in Age Group Development 1 who are not old enough to take part in the Age Group Calendar (Anyone under 9 years old, age at 7th November 2026). 
- Swimmers should enter ALL events
