Attendance...

Hello Everyone.

For those of you that don't know, the scheme are taking Attendance very seriously this season, and I am tasked with monitoring it. I have a spreadsheet that tells me exactly who is attending the correct number of sessions every week for their age.
Below is a reminder for the minimum sessions required each week Dependant upon age.

This means that when you are 10, you need to be doing at least one morning a week, but we still like to see the younger swimmers experiencing morning training from a young age. Attendance is a massive part of what the senior coaches look at for moves.
This is why I cannot stress the importance of reporting absence before the session wherever possible, so we have a reason for the absence.
The way Kevin and myself plan the training is based upon the LTAD (long term athlete development), so when sessions are missed, the swimmers then miss a particular part of what we cover every week. For example, Sunday nights are most likely sprint sets, so if Sunday nights are regularly missed, the swimmer will struggle to develop as a sprinter.

We do not want people  having to move out of our squad on the basis of attendance only, so please attempt your minimum number of sessions a week.

Any questions, speak to me after a session or contact me by email.

Yours,

Ryan.
