Well Done!!!!!!!  Laugh

I know some of you missed North Eastern times by a small amount, keep working hard over the next month and hopefully you will achieve these at your next meet.

Don't forget to check the ASA Speed Awards to see if you have achieved the next level and if you have you can purchase your badge from the Club Shop on Monday nights.

We were thinking of updating the blog picture, so if swimmers who achieved medals, cups or flags over the 2 weekends at the Yorkshire's could bring them in along with their Leeds kit we will have a photo after training on Wednesday night, along with the rest of the squad in their team kit.

Yorkshire Championships (2nd Weekend)

Last weekend was a really good meet with fantastic swims.  It would be great if you can do the same again this weekend smashing your PB's again. Stick together and work as a team in the warm up and swim down. Take a drink with you to the warm up and swim down pool to keep hydrated.

Attendance

Most of you attend the required amount of sessions to be in C Central, however with promotions on the way I would like to remind you all how many sessions, minimum a week you should all be attending.  We appreciate you all have holidays, illness and after school activities now and again, which is fine but when not away swimmers should be attending on average the minimum number of sessions below for their age to give them the best chance of success. These number of sessions follows the Long Term Athlete Development plan for Competitive Swimming.

9 yrs = 5 sessions per week minimum
10 yrs = 6/7 sessions per week minimum
11 yrs = 6/7 sessions per week minimum
11/12 yrs = 7 sessions per week minimum

Our squads swimming week starts on a Sunday night and finishes on a Friday night.  If swimmers have competed on a Sunday they will be given their attendance mark for Sunday nights session.  If a session is missed swimmers should try and make it up in the following week by attending an additional work out.

Below is the attendance since the start of 2011 so you can all check if you are meeting the correct standards. (H = Holiday)

Yorkshire's

Club Policy is 7.30am on Poolside

The race warm up for our group will be
1 x 300 Fc/ Bk
1 x 200 IM (drill on Fly)
6 x 50 Race Stroke (odds- fast/easy, evens- easy/ fast)
Dive Practice in to Race Stroke

Get out fast on the first length, hold the second length, work the 3rd length, switch the legs on as fast as you can on the last length.  Try and aim to put a little bit more effort in on each length and don't slow down into the turns.  Remember it is natural to be nervous, If you do get nervous just think what everybody else on the on the blocks must be feeling. Go in pool and enjoy your race.

It's how you prepare months before in the training pool that will determine your performance at the main event.  Your ruthless attendance, quality and consistency of your training will serge you forward's to a result you will be happy with!'Send

Lets Chase those North Eastern Times!!!

Best of Luck Open-mouth smile
