Hi All,
Unfortunately, Harrison Day will be leaving us at the end of the week. As some of you may already know, Harrison is in the final weeks of his university studies and has recently been successful in finding full time employment within his intended career path.
Harrison has been a member of the City of Leeds Swimming Club and Leeds City Council Swimming Training Scheme since he was 10 years old and enjoyed a successful swimming career, which spanned almost ten years. He has been an important member of the Coaching Team for the last two years.
His last day with us will be Friday 20th April 2018, however he has expressed his intention to provide ad-hoc coaching cover, where feasible, for us in the future. So hopefully, this will not be the last we see of him!
Kim Mathias is organising a leaving collection for Harrison, so that he can be presented with a leaving gift on his last day. Those wishing to contribute must do so before 8:00pm on Wednesday 18th April 2018.
The Assistant Coach (Regional Performance Squad) position will be filled by Emily Jones. Emily is also a former member of the City of Leeds Swimming Club and Swim Training Scheme. Emily was a member of the National Squad and competed regularly at National Championships. She is currently employed by Leeds City Council and is teaching/coaching in various capacities at John Smeaton Leisure Centre. Emily will start working with the group from Wednesday (18th April) and, following a transition period (and working her notice at John Smeaton), she will become a regular feature on the squad.
