Wales - Day 1

The City of Leeds team have arrived safely and settled into Wales life and are off to a encouraging start in the pool achieving 28 PB's out of 50 Swims on the first day. We had 12 final swims of which 5 converted their times from heat to final. The team came away with 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze medals. A great start to the week!

Emily's highlights of the day were: 

  • Patrick O'Hara – gold medal in the 400m I.M as well as taking part in the 200m freestyle (bronze medal) and the 100m backstroke! Solid final swims! 
  • Alfie Young – stepping up to the challenge from being a reserve swimmer to a finalist swimmer – great attitude! 
  • Hayden Lam – going 3rd into the 200m freestyle final and turning up the heat to finish 2nd – excellent use of race tactics! 
  • Evie-Rose Topping and Amit Maltz – knocking 10 seconds off their P.B in the 400m IM – fantastic effort! 
  • Luke Dyer – smashing his PB in the 200m freestyle – brilliant attack on the race! 

     Well Done to All. 👍  

    The Swimmers have enjoyed some chill out time after dinner, before an early night ready for the day ahead.
