Email to Parents

Dear Parent

I hope you are well and have had a fantastic summer.  I'm really enjoying getting back into the season, and it's great to see the swimmers training hard and looking so motivated.  Also, thank you for your continued support and dedication. None of this could happen without the significant input you provide.

Just a few housekeeping matters to attend to, ensuring we get off to a great start this season.

Equipment
Can you ensure that your child has all of the correct training equipment in their kit bags, and that they have the correct footwear for dry-land work please. If you are not sure what that should be, please don't hesitate to get in touch with your child's coach to ask.

Attendance
Can I just re-iterate the importance of the swimmers being on deck in good time for pre-pool, and to hear the session brief. This is for both morning and evening sessions. Also, can I remind you not to ask your child to finish morning training early. I understand that this can be challenging for some, but morning training is an essential part of a swimmer's journey and broken sessions are disruptive to their progress if this becomes a regular issue. We will not be able to promote swimmers through the programme if they are not able to commit to all training as prescribed.

Lastly...changing room/shower etiquette
Almost every week, the facility management are dealing with poor behaviour from our swimmers in the shower area and changing rooms, including wet toilet paper throwing, urination in the changing rooms and general boisterous behaviour. Although we understand and want high energy athletes, we also have a duty to ensure good behaviour from our squads.

Can you please help us with this, by reminding your child about their behaviour and also for you to check that your child is getting changed quickly and not messing around. We have been told that if this behaviour continuous, the changing facilities may be taken away, and all swimmers will need to arrive/leave beach ready. None of us want this, so please support us with this issue.

Kind regards
