After Day 1 of the Winter Yorkshires the team reconvened on Saturday evening for the first round of the National ARENA League.
Competition was hot with City of Leeds trailing for some of the meet, but with 18 Firsts, 16 Second places and 10 Third place finishes City of Leeds showed their depth and character.
An exciting finale in the Men's 6 x 50 freestyle Canon, coming from behind, saw us clinch First place overall by just 3 points.
1st - City of Leeds 290
2nd - Sheffield 'A' Team 287
Just a reminder for swimmers competing in the Junior League to please keep Sunday 25th November free as this will be the day of the National Final held at Corby. We will be competing to retain our title for the third time in a row.
I will be in touch with the schedule for Junior League practice soon.
Thanks
Kevin
Hi all,
We would like to arrange a photo of the team with the trophy from the Northern Final for this coming Monday (15th October). We will aim to do the photo at 18:30pm, the best time for all of the training groups involved. Therefore please could you ensure that your child brings their Junior League T-Shirt for the evening, and preferably their Blue Shorts.
We will be arranging a few practice sessions in the run up to the final, but for the time being please continue with your child's own squad on a Wednesday night.
Thanks
Kevin, Tom, Elysha & Josh
Both squads will be back to normal training times from next week.
Anyone who has purchased tickets for the Junior League in Blackpool on Sunday can collect them from Lucie Black at JCC during the week or on Sunday morning before we leave.
On Sunday morning please meet at the John Charles Centre for 9:30am. Do not forget to have a good breakfast, and bring plenty of snacks as well as a sandwich; But most of all, please ensure you brink plenty to drink.
Parent supporters please ensure you wear YELLOW on the day, these are our team colours. Even if you do not have a club T-Shirt, please wear a yellow top. Ensure you voice boxes are in good working order. Bring your wigs, flags, horns, banners, face paints etc. We expect you to be the loudest people there. The children can not see you when they swim…but if you're loud enough…they will hear you!
Good Luck Team!
Kevin, Tom, Elysha & Josh
