March Madness Final Meet Information

Please see below information just received from Sheffield about this weekend's competition.

Apologies for the delay in sending the final information, I have been waiting for the venue to confirm some details.

  • All individuals (swimmers, coaches, officials, volunteers, and spectators) please undertake a Covid-19 Lateral Flow Test within 72 hours before you are due to attend the meet (11 years or over).  This is to confirm they have no symptoms of Covid-19. If this is positive, they should go for a PCR test immediately.
  • All swimmers should have completed and returned a 'Return to Competition Health Declaration Form' to their club before the competition. 
  • We encourage individuals to wear a face covering when moving around the venue and make frequent use of the sanitiser points around the venue.
  • Swimmers will enter the pool area downstairs through the changing area. They should then use the stairs from the poolside to access their seating area. Please refer to the seating plan.  
  • We are pleased to be able to allow spectators. 
  • The marshalling area will be on the pool deck, Omega Suite side.
  • Coaches and Team Managers can enter through the double doors from the Foyer where poolside passes will be available for collection.

Sheffield No Frills Entries 2022

Hi All,

 
Entries for the No Frills Meet held at Ponds Forge, Sheffield on Saturday 21st & Sunday 22nd May are now open.

Entries will close at 9:00pm on Monday 14th March.  This meet will be age as at 22nd May 2022 (Open to ages 9 years +).

Swimmers are advised to enter no more than 3 events per session.

50m - All Strokes
100m - All Strokes
200m - All Strokes
200m - IM

Swimmers must not have swum faster than the event's upper limit time in the 12 months preceding the gala.  Upper time limits can be found in the meet pack below.  Those swimmers who have not competed in an event before can use the standard times formula to get an estimated time.

Swim England NE Region Long Course Championships – Officials Request

Applications are invited from Swim England North East Region Licensed Technical Officials to officiate at the up and coming Long Course Championships which are being held in Leeds and Sheffield.

SUPER SPRINTERS!

Some good sprinting at the Yorkshire Sprints by the Regional Squads down at Sheffield and some amazing times.  You should all be very pleased with yourselves.  Three weekends of racing and all of them swum great, we are very proud of you all.  We are currently in a big block of training which will take through to the NER's.  

For those swimmers not attending NER's you will have 10 weeks of training up to the No Frills Meet.  This is a great opportunity to attend as many sessions as possible and get some work behind you before racing again at the end of May.  You may find some sessions tough, but this is aimed at getting you all into the best shape possible and race ready.  

Train at 100% effort every session to give yourself the best possible chance of success in the upcoming competitions.  GET STUCK IN!!!

Regional Development
Overall, as a group you achieved a whopping 91 PB's out of 108 Swims, 5 Bronze Medal, 22 Yorkshire Final Swims (12 of which were swum faster in the final), 14 more NER times and 16 Top 4th - 10th place finishes in Yorkshire.  Well Done!
