Armley LC Re-opening

Hi All,

Great news… Armley Leisure Centre will be reopening from week commencing Monday 24^th August meaning Regional Development can recommence training on Thursday 27th August.

The manager at Armley has requested:

"Can you instruct all of the squad swimmers to line up outside on the purple floor markings. Centre staff will notify the swimmers/coaches when they can gain access to the building/poolside."

Please notice that the session times have tempoarily changed;

Arrival Time: 17:50.00

Start Time: 18:00.00

Finish Time: 19:00.00

Return to Training - JCCS New Protocols

This link will take you to a folder on google drive, where you can select from a range of videos which outline to new protocols for entering the building using the three different pools at JCCS. With an additional video of entering, finishing and exiting the water.

We'd like to reiterate there will be additional coaches present at the first sessions back to help everyone settle into the new routine.

Aquatic Training Scheme's Return

Hi All,

As you may well have seen on social media there a lots of Aquatic training schemes and clubs returning to training when Leeds have not as yet. As we explained in our previous email there a lots of logistical process's to adhere to in order that Leeds City Council swimming pools open safely. These processes and procedures are still being worked through, however, with each passing day we draw ever closer to a return to training.

At the present time the Council have strategically opened gyms in the first instance and pools are the next phase of mobilisation. Please bear in mind that a large proportion of facility staff are still redeployed to other mandatory services across the council which will obviously put a strain on Active Leeds's ability to open all facilities.

While we acknowledge and share in your frustration please know that all staff linked to council pools are working quickly and with great diligence to help the pools open again in due course.

We have no doubt that whilst the routine of training and normal life has been suspended in the past few months, the rest it has given the body and mind will no doubt help in the long term development of all involved with the training schemes.

We ask you to be patient a while longer and appreciate that when the time comes for our return, there may well be a phased return in order that staff, coaches and athletes are comfortable and confident with the new operating procedures. By phasing squads return this will help everyone to understand how they need to behave under the new way of attending training without the poolside or facility being heavily populated.

We will contact you to arrange zoom calls for your respective squad before your child's return so that we can communicate what will be expected of you and your child when attending training.
