Swim4Leukaemia Guinness World Record Attempt & Swim Clinics

Hi All,

On the 1st of February a team of 99 swimmers will come together and 'Swim4Leukaemia' to take on the 100x100m Swimming Relay Guinness World Record. 

The Record attempting team will be supported by some of Great Britain's finest swimmers including 30 Olympians, Olympic Medalists, World Record Holders, World Commonwealth & European Medalists and over 50 Great Britain Internationals.

The Record we will be attempting is 1hour 37mins 53secs, this was set at the the Pizzey Park Sporting Complex in Miami, Queensland, Australia on 29 October 2011.

Doors will open from 2pm - with the chance for spectators to chat to some of the swimmers taking part & have pictures and autographs with there favourite stars, there will also be some activities for the spectators to take part in on arrival. Build up for the record attempt will start at 2:45pm with A selection of swimmers from Trafford Synchronised Swimming Club demonstrating their immensely athletic sport and will be performing a couple of high-energy routines which are current works in progress for the up and coming British National Championships to be held in Sheffield in the Spring.
Ex-National Champions, Trafford is one of the North's premier synchronised swimming clubs based in the Manchester area, and has been established since 1981 & the record attempt will start at 3:30

During the record attempt there will be a raffle with a wide range of prizes to be won!

As part of the day before the record attempt there are some Swim Clinics, these will be led by Olympic Coach Russ Barber & Supported by Olympians, Olympic Medalists & Great Britain Internationals!

Swim Clinic 2 ~ 2pm - 2:45pm

This is an amazing opportunity to have a skills session coached by Olympic & Great Britain Swimming Coach, Russ Barber. The Swim Clinics will be supported by the swimmers who are taking part in the relay so this will include - Jazz Carlin, Hannah Miley, Amy Smith, Fran Halsall, Grant Turner, Sophie Allen, Joe Roebuck, Roberto Pavoni, Georgia Davies, Michael Jamieson, Karen Pickering MBE, Steve Parry, Becky Turner, Ellie Faulkner, James Crisp, James Kirton, Andrew Willis, Jess lloyd, Ieaun lloyd, Tom Haffield, Jemma Lowe, Siobhan O'Connor, Chris Walker Hebborn, James Guy, Aimee Willmott, James Goddard & Lauren Quigley any more GB Stars!

As well as this each swimmer will receive a Goody Bag from Speedo, along with an opportunity to get autographs & pictures with there favourite swimming star! 

Each ticket for the swim clinic will also grant the swimmer free entry to gallery for the 100x100 Guinness World Record Attempt.

Swimming ability requirement: Club Swimmer Aged between 8-16 - must be able to swim 400m
