White Rose Junior League - 2nd October

Please ensure that your child arrives promptly at 08:45, John Charles, Leeds on Sunday 2nd October to check in with team managers in the dance studio (upstairs before the balcony doors). There will be a swimmers team meeting to explain the schedule and team tactics for the day.

The A Team & B Team will be announced on the morning of the competition in case we have to make any last-minute changes.

All swimmers should be wearing Team Kit, if your child does not have team kit, please ensure they are wearing blue and yellow to replicate the team colours as close as possible.  The club are due to be getting a new kit very soon and the club shop will sell whatever old kit they have left for swimmers needing anything on Monday evening (26th September in the Denison Suite).

A polite notice to parents who are coming to support your team, please also aim to wear club colours and also try to sit together as a team on the balcony.  The City of Leeds Club Shop now sells yellow supporters T Shirts on a Monday evening for events like this, please make every effort to purchase one.  Supporters T Shirts are £10 (cash preferred) and will be on sale Monday 26th September.  Don't forget your hats, wigs, horns, face paints etc.  The louder you cheer the faster the swimmers will go!

Swimmers, please arrive and warm up in the costume you wish to compete in.  There will be no time after the warmup to change into racing suits.

Children will not be allowed to leave poolside, this is a fast and ferocious competition, team managers will not have time to hunt swimmers down from the balcony.  Therefore, please ensure your children have appropriate food and hydration for the morning.

You are reminded that this is a TEAM event, and as such all members of the team will stay until the end (estimated 12:30, 1pm latest).  Win or lose, we will show the integrity that our role models show and applaud our fellow competitors.

Photo Consent

We would like to do a team photo for social media and any results posts.  We will shortly be sending out a link to an online photo declaration form.  Please make sure this is filled in prior to Sunday's event.  Anyone who has not completed the form is not allowed to take part in any team photos.

Tattoos

In preparation for the Junior League Anna Darnell and Helen Ellis will be selling City of Leeds tattoos for £1.  Due to the tight schedule on the morning of competition we advise swimmers to apply their tattoos at home before the competition.

Swimmers, please remember everything you have practised during training.  This will be a tough competition; every millisecond counts in an event like this. Remember shallow dives, kick hard, get up, race hard and don't slow down into the finishes.  BE CAREFUL ON THE TAKEOVERS!!!! It is better to go late than go early.  We need to grab every point we can, getting disqualified can cause the team to lose vital points.

The winning team will go through to the Grand Final held in Corby, Northampton on Sunday 27th November.

Please note, the A Team on the day of the White Rose round is not guaranteed to be the same team selected for the Grand Final.  The team for the final will be selected from Swim England rankings following the Winter Yorkshires.  Any times posted in the White Rose competition will also be taken into consideration for selection into the final.

Good Luck Everyone!  We hope you have a fun, exciting and enjoyable day.
